Killby & Gayford was contracted to infill the existing lightwell over five storeys to create additional floor space.

The works involved:

  • Construction of a new single storey extension at fifth floor level.
  • Structural infill to the front of the building to unify the appearance of the building façade.
  • Upgrade of mechanical and electrical services.
  • Fit out of service core and toilets.
  • Redecoration throughout.

Due to the very tight site location a remote control, roof mounted crane was installed to manage all deliveries and disposal of waste materials.

In addition, Mercer Street was closed between the hours of 7.30am to 6.30pm for the duration of the project.
