Killby & Gayford Joinery was contracted to manufacture several bespoke pieces of furniture for Mitie Property Services Customer Access Area.
The works included the creation of:

  • Seven interview booths with lino worktops and solid ash lippings. Each booth had shaped 10mm glass privacy screens, induction loops and cable managements.A bespoke reception desk which was constructed using lino and laminate worktops all with ash lippings and curved flat and horizontal 10mm acid etched glass.
  • Four secure ballistically-tested counter positions. These counters have shaped 10mm glass privacy screens, induction loops and cable management with the addition of powdercoated aluminium frames, ballistic panels and ballistic glazing.
  • An I.T. desking and model area with curved work tops with free standing legs.

One particular challenge for the production team was achieving the perfect finish to the curved glass and solid nosing. The solid timber had to be machined using our CNC programme to exactly align with the shapes of the walls and worktops.
