Travelex ATMs at Gatwick Airport
An exercise in co-ordination. Two ATM machines were installed in the premises of a travel company in the main concourse area. We provided the design and carried out the works to satisfy BAA plc, their structural engineer, Barclays Bank, HSBC and Travelex.
Twickenham
A listed building. Installation of the ATM involved lengthy negotiations with the local authority in order to obtain planning permission. Several alternative schemes were submitted before approval was obtained.
Cricklewood
Replacement of a 1780 machine by a 5084 ATM. It was intended that the fascia plate be raised by about a foot to accommodate the increased height of the 5084 safe. The local council insisted that the machine be installed at the same height as the existing machine to provide access for wheelchair users. As a result the floor slab had to be cut away and extra steelwork installed.
Kingston
Halfway through installing a new ATM it was discovered that a hidden building column ran right through the agreed location for the machine behind the external stone cladding and within the inner brick skin thickness. This was not shown on any previous drawing. At short notice, extensive structural steelworks had to be fabricated and installed to allow the column to be cut away since it was not possible to re-site the machine.
